Shi Yan Ti was born in 1984 in a central province of China, Henan, where the Shaolin Temple is located.
He is a warrior monk of the 34th generation, a direct disciple of Abbot Shi Yong Xin.
He grew up seeing his father practicing Kung Fu as the latter is a martial artist. Hoping that Yan would follow in his footsteps, his father began to train him and he was his first martial arts teacher. The practice of Kung Fu became part of his daily routine.
After finishing high school, Yan Ti at the age of 17 went to the Shaolin Temple where his skills in Kung Fu were assessed to decree his admission or not within the Temple itself. Yan was admitted to you and became part of the body of Shaolin warrior monks.
In 2007, Yan Ti, after years of study under his Master Abate Shi Yongxin and, following the 250 precepts of Buddhism, was named bhikkhu, an ordinary monk.
Recognizing the potential of his disciple, the Abbot in 2008 sent Yan Ti to the University of Nanjing to study the religions and philosophies of the world. In 2009, while continuing to study in Nanjing, Yan Ti received a grant from the Chinese government to study at the Buddhist College in Singapore. With the approval of the Abbot, he continued to study Buddhism, English, society and science in Singapore for two years.
After graduating, Yan Ti returned to the Shaolin Temple and resumed working with the Abbot, continuing to learn about Chan Buddhism and practicing Kung Fu.
In 2010, Yan Ti, as a body trainer for the Shaolin warrior monks, began to train not only the monks, but also the foreign practitioners who went to visit the Temple.
Since 2013, Yan Ti started traveling outside of China to teach Kung Fu and spread the Shaolin culture around the world. He has performed in front of government officials in ussia, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Malawi, USA and his country.
In March 2017 Yan Ti founded a Shaolin cultural center in Sicily to teach Kung Fu, Buddhism and Mandarin.
Yan Ti represents the 34th generation of Shaolin warrior monks, a generation that dates back to the 13th century.
